Brine Hamilton

Yolanda brings over 16 years of information and physical security experience in roles leading strategy development for Cybersecurity Operations and Education & Awareness programs and managing Cybersecurity Engineering and Cybersecurity Emergency Response teams and Cybersecurity consulting, audits and compliance (GRC). Many years of her career have been spent in a risk advisory capacity supporting governance, compliance, risk assessment, fraud investigations, business continuity and disaster recovery planning, auditing, tabletop exercises and resilience training, in addition to cybersecurity transformation and program management. Yolanda also served 7 years with the British Police Force as a Police Constable and Police Detective.
Glen Kitteringham

He worked as a security guard, supervisor, manager and director in a variety of in-house and contract positions in retail, property management and investigations. He managed a department of 110 managers and staff across nine properties in Western Canada for 13 years developing a first-class security program winning numerous awards.

Patrick Neal

Patrick Neal has been involved in the justice and public safety field since 1982. During is career he has been in the Canadian Army, worked as a prison librarian, was a security supervisor at Vancouver General Hospital (the largest teaching/trauma hospital in British Columbia). Throughout his career, he has used data and information to; develop better responses to justice and public safety incidents, inform policy development, develop insights into how people search for and use data and information.

Jody Reid has been involved in the service and security industry for three decades. He started his career in security as a contract security officer working at a multitude of sites including shopping centers, industrial properties, and office towers.

Mark’s background is in security services, corporate security, and technology. After graduating with a business degree, he progressed in senior roles responsible for various security business units. He launched a consulting business focused on physical security and then served as Senior Manager, Corporate Security at Canada’s largest telecommunications company. He created the security industry function for a security focused software company. For the last 11 years he taught on a part-time basis in the Security and Police Studies program at University of Montreal.
Mark currently volunteers as the Vice Chair of the inaugural North American Regional Board of Directors for ASIS International.
Finally, in 2021, Mark was the recipient of the Ron Minion Canadian Security Industry Pioneer Award awarded by ASIS Canada.
Brine Hamilton

Additionally Brine is the host of 3 podcasts, the recipient of the 2020 IAHSS Ontario Chapter Security & Safety Leadership Award and named to Canadian Security’s Top 10 Under 40 list in 2020.

Yolanda sits on the Advisory Board of IFPO UK. She is an ASIS Member and sits on the ASIS International Information Security Steering Committee after serving 3 years tenure on the ASIS Physical Steering Committee, and she finds ways to connect with other women security professionals around the world in small projects, including mentoring young women professionals.
Yolanda is currently a feature columnist for Security Buyer and writes for each issue.
Yolanda co-hosts The Security Vine Podcast, the first podcast of its kind celebrating security, wine and entertainment.
Passionate about Mental Health Yolanda is now a Mental Health First Aider and advocates for good mental health and wellbeing in all roles both in and out of work. Yolanda is passionate about amplifying the voices of the marginalised in our communities and is also an LGBTQ+ Ally and promotes evolving allyship.

Dr. Glen Kitteringham, DSyRM, M.Sc. has worked in the security industry since 1990. Consulting since 2010, clients come from agriculture, banking, education, energy, government, health care, property management, publishing, security, and technology. As a consultant he has completed over 600 projects.
Dr. Kitteringham obtained his Professional Doctorate in Security Risk Management from the University of Portsmouth, his Master of Science post-graduate degree in Security and Crime Risk Management, a Diploma in Criminology and numerous university certificates in Security Management, Terrorism Awareness, General Management, Adult Learning specializing in Adult and Community Education, e-Learning & Workplace Learning. He obtained his Certified Protection Professional designation through ASIS International in 2002.
He has over 250 publishing credits to his name including four books: Security & Life Safety in the Commercial High-Rise, Lost Laptops = Lost Data, The Science and Art of Security Risk Assessment & Security Officer to Chief Security Officer: A Guide to Workforce Competencies, Risks and Career Planning.
He has conducted research into Security Practitioners Perspectives of the Alberta Basic Security Training Programme, Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design in the Commercial High-Rise, Laptop Theft Prevention, Offender Perspectives on Shoplifting, How Security Officers Manage Workplace Violence, The Competence of Security Officers and What They Say About their Work, & co-led an international team in developing the Security Officers and Patrol Services Competency Model on behalf of the International Foundation for Protection Officers which was approved by the United States Department of Labor in 2022. He is currently conducting a meta-analysis of Security Officer Employee Retention Tactics.

As part of the Security Operations Team, Roy’s dedication is to provide strategic, policy and operations direction to Cadillac Fairview properties in the critical areas of Physical Security, Emergency Management, CCTV/ACMS Technology and Life Safety. Prior to joining National Security Operations, Roy held overall operational responsibility of the Security and Life Safety Program at the Toronto Eaton Centre.
Roy holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Honours from York University and is currently a Master’s Student in the Disaster and Emergency Management Program.
Roy is active in various committees in downtown Toronto including a long standing member and Chair of the BOMA Toronto, Security Risk Management Advisory Committee.
Patrick Neal

In 2019, he completed his Doctor of Social Sciences at Royal Roads University (Victoria, BC). Most recently, Dr. Neal has shifted his focus to exploring the future of national security and public safety through the lens of transhumanism, augmented reality, and the human body as the conflict zone due to technology adoption in human organs.
His areas of interest are: cyber deterrence, information weaponization, social contract theory, and intelligence /analysis within the cyber –domain.
When not in the cyberspace you can find his interests are exploring museums, old books, antiques, and fishing.
Jody Reid
Canadian Security Lifesaver Association
Jody Reid has been involved in the service and security industry for three decades. He started his career in security as a contract security officer working at a multitude of sites including shopping centers, industrial properties, and office towers. He spent 16-years at Chinook Centre, Calgary Alberta Canada’s largest shopping, dining, entertainment, and professional services complex. Jody worked his way up from patroller to bike patrol member, through multiple supervisory positions to the senior manager role.
Since 2014, Jody has been leading the security team at The Bow Tower, one of Western Canada’s largest and most prestigious skyscrapers. Education continues to be a cornerstone of Jody’s development. He started his formal post-secondary education at Loyalist College obtaining a Diploma in Law and Security Administration. He has completed Certificate Programs in Security Management from the University of Calgary, Emergency Management from the Justice Institute of British Columbia, and Adult Educator from Mount Royal University. Jody is currently the ASIS Canada Regional Vice President of Region 6C: Saskatchewan, Edmonton/Northern Alberta, Calgary/Southern Alberta, and Pacific/Vancouver Chapters.
An ASIS International member since 2008, he has been an active volunteer with ASIS Chapter 162 Calgary/Southern Alberta Chapter since 2011, serving on the Board in numerous capacities including multiple Chapter Chair terms, Vice Chair, and Secretary. As a progressive and creative leader, Jody promotes an environment where the security mindset assists to enable business. He brings enthusiasm to safety, security, and service that redefines expectations.
David Sulston
Industry Representative
David has been involved in the industry for over 30 years, and holds a Master’s of Science Degree with Merit in Security and Risk Management from the University of Leicester. David is board certified through the American Society of Industrial Security as a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and Physical Security Professional (PSP).
David is a founding member of the Commercial Real Estate Security Group, and a co-founder of the Canadian Security Lifesaver Association. David is Co-Chair of the BOMA Security and Risk Management Advisory Committee and was recognized as one the 2021 IFSEC Global Top 20 Security Executive Influencers and was awarded as the 2022 Canadian Security Director of the Year.
