Outstanding In-House Security Manager/Director 
Kirsty Bradley-McMurtrie – Conestoga College 

Kirsty Bradley-McMurtrie is a nationally recognised security leader with over 27 years of experience in risk management, campus safety, and operational leadership. As Associate Vice President at Conestoga College, she transformed safety operations by integrating departments, enhancing emergency preparedness, and leading privacy compliance. Her mentorship, strategic foresight, and stakeholder collaboration have earned her accolades including Canadian Security Magazine’s 2024 Security Director of the Year.  

Judges commended Kirsty Bradley-McMurtrie for her exceptional strategic leadership and the significant impact she has made on the Conestoga College Security team. Her ability to deliver a genuine transformation across campuses demonstrates clear vision, credible results, and a focus that extends well beyond day-to-day management. Through effective stakeholder engagement and a balanced, professional approach, Kirsty has elevated the team’s performance and strengthened the overall security culture across the college.

Central City Security Team – Guardteck Security 

Named BOMA BC Security Team of the Year 2025, the Central City Security Team’s innovative Boost & Bust program curbs organised retail theft in collaboration with law enforcement, while the Social Support & Shelter Assistance Program fosters harm reduction and community trust. Officers have earned multiple Canadian Lifesaving Awards for heroic on-site actions, underscoring their life-saving readiness. Through rigorous training, emergency preparedness, and a culture of empathy, the team delivers unmatched value to clients, tenants, contractors, and the wider community. 

Judges praised the Central City Security Team for their collaborative efforts, which support other responders and clientele. 

Outstanding Security Training Initiative 
RiskQuest Training Initiatives by Bhagyashri Wani – ZS Associates 

As part of a broader GRC initiative to embed a culture of awareness and shared accountability, ZS Associates launched a training program to support RiskQuest—a transformative effort to operationalise risk ownership across the enterprise. This initiative cantered on using risk registers to make risk visible, actionable, and traceable. By automating the solution through Archer and customising the platform for intuitive tracking and remediation, they ensured that every employee could engage meaningfully with risk data and contribute to enterprise resilience. 

Judges recognised the RiskQuest / Risk Lead Training Initiatives as a refreshing take on risk awareness training that’s driving tangible improvements to risk mitigation. 

Outstanding New Security Product

From anti-cloning to secure firmware enforcement, every layer of the controller is engineered to protect users now and into the future. It’s a secure-by-default platform that simplifies compliance, protects operations, and redefines trust in access control. 

Judges commended the High Security Controller 7000 by Gallagher Security as a technically advanced solution delivering compelling client impact and value. The controller is expected to exceed most IT compliance requirements, with excellent clarity and proof supporting its performance. Its hardware-rooted trust and zero-trust posture provide a strong assurance and scalability story, and its security architecture aligns well with vendor messaging.  

Outstanding Security Partnership 
Commissionaires Nova Scotia and Mi’kmaq artist Emma Stevens 

In 2025, Commissionaires Nova Scotia partnered with Mi’kmaq artist Emma Stevens for a series of powerful performances at the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo, raising awareness of human trafficking. The initiative honoured survivors and victims, amplified Indigenous voices, and engaged the broader community. Reaching more than 21,000 people, it reinforced CNS’s commitment to protecting communities, setting a new standard for impact in the security sector. 

Judges highlighted the collaboration between Commissionaires Nova Scotia and Mi’kmaq artist Emma Stevens as a unique approach to a relevant topic that made a meaningful impact. They were struck by the powerful combination of art, security, and education coming together to help heal and prevent further tragedies. This creative partnership connects security with community, delivering authentic and positive social value. 

Outstanding Security Officer 
Donald Morgan – Paragon Security 

Donald Morgan is a security professional with Harvard University’s Professional Program in Leadership and Communication (2024). He holds three IFPO certifications: CPO, CSSM, and CPOI. He has led training programs at Humber College, improving procedural retention by over 40%. He is certified in IMS100, IMS200, IMS300, and has completed FEMA ICS-200, IS-700, IS-800, and CPKN courses. He is a published contributor to the International CPTED Association. 

Judges highlighted Donald Morgan from Paragon Security for his mix of experience and education, which has driven impact and outcomes at Humber College. He uses learned skills and seems interested in educating himself to be able to perform and excel. 

Outstanding Young Security Professional 
Mohammed Mounir – ASP Security 

In September 2022 and August 2023, Mohammed was a recipient of the Canadian Security Lifesavers Association Award, after he saved two separate lives while on duty as a Mobile Patrol Supervisor with ASP. He joined ASP in November 2020 as a guard, and was repeatedly promoted through several roles to acting manager for events in summer 2025. In July 2023, he also received an ASP Excellence award from CEO Dean Lovric.  

Judges applauded Mohammed Mounir from ASP Security as a great example of a young professional excelling in the industry. Mohammed’s story of resilience and overcoming a major injury, while going on to save others’ lives, is incredibly impressive and inspiring.

Mark Folmer 

With 29 years shaping the future of security, Mark Folmer has transformed how organisations manage risk, innovate, and lead. As President of Robotic Assistance Devices, his work leading AI and robotics for the security industry is setting new industry benchmarks worldwide. A recipient of the Ron Minion Pioneer Award and two-time IFSEC Global Influencer, Mark’s thought leadership, 60+ global speaking engagements, and tireless mentorship inspire professionals globally while amplifying Canada’s impact on the international security landscape. 

Judges celebrated Mark Folmer for a truly great security career that has impacted many. His decades of influence and sector leadership set the benchmark for professional excellence, with a strong track record and measurable impact. Mark’s multi-decade, sector-shaping contributions across technology, operations, academia, and volunteer leadership, combined with his passion for innovation and entrepreneurial spirit, have driven growth for both himself and the organisations he has led.
